The Summerland Way is an important route connecting Grafton, Casino and Kyogle to the Mt Lindesay Highway. Heavy vehicles from Warwick and Beaudesert use this route to access Casino.

Resurfacing work – 52km north of Kyogle

From 13 March 2018 work will start to resurface a 2.5 kilometre section of the Summerland Way, about 52km north of Kyogle and six kilometres east of Woodenbong.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of July 2018, weather permitting.

Background

The Summerland Way is an important route connecting Grafton, Casino and Kyogle to the Mt Lindesay Highway. Heavy vehicles from Warwick and Beaudesert use this route to access Casino.

Roads and Maritime Services’ strategy for the Summerland Way has been to provide funding for maintaining, rehabilitating, widening, improving the alignment and replacing a number of bridges in order to provide a consistent two lane, sealed road with overtaking lanes to the Queensland border.
