Selection criteria

Thank for your considering participating in the upcoming Value Management Workshop for the Batemans Bay Bridge project as a community representatives.
If selected, you will assess a range of design options against agreed criteria with other key stakeholders. The outcomes of the workshop will contribute to the development of a preferred option.

The workshop is planned for mid-June and will occur during business hours. An agenda and background paper will be mailed to selected participants around one week prior to the workshop.

The workshop will look at how a new bridge might:

  • improve freight access by enabling vehicles up to 26 metres in length across the river
  • address structural issues, reducing maintenance costs
  • reduce economic and social impacts resulting from road closures and the current load limit
  • manage the lift-span and nearby intersections to reduce traffic delays during peak periods.

Prior to completing the application form please ensure you meet the selection criteria below.

Selection criteria

Value management workshop participants are required to:

  • have an understanding of Batemans Bay Bridge project and potential community issues
  • be able to commit approximately three days over a two month period to:read the pre-workshop background paper provided about one week before the workshop (may take half a day)
  • attend the value management workshop which will be held during business hours on X June in a venue close to the proposed route (one day)
  • be available to attend future community events (may take half a day)
  • be able to represent broader community interests and views and not personal opinion
  • be able to interpret technical information
  • be able to tolerate and respect differing viewpoints and interests that may be opposed to personal or local community position.

Applications from landowners, residents, businesses and other stakeholder groups directly impacted by the road corridor will not be considered as we are seeking broad community representation. These stakeholders are being consulted separately.

The preferred option will be made available to the public later this year. The community will have an opportunity to make comment at this time. All community members will be invited to have their say on the project when the preferred option is announced later this year.
