In an attempt to minimise the impact of the Kings Highway stage one road closures on the community, Roads and Maritime asked for community feedback on the proposed closures and times.
The proposed closure times for stage one were from 7.30am each Tuesday to 5pm each Thursday for five weeks.
The comment period ran for two weeks from Wednesday 17 April 2013 and was advertised in the community via paid advertising, media releases to local media outlets, radio interviews, email communications to registered stakeholders and electronic message boards on the Kings Highway at Clyde Mountain.
Roads and Maritime received 121 email responses, 80 phone calls and one response by post.
This information was used in the planning for the closures and the closure time was changed to 8am each Tuesday to 5pm each Thursday for the five weeks.
