Blackwattle Bay Maritime Precinct
In 2010, following a tender process, Roads and Maritime Services signed an agreement with Blackwattle Bay Marina Pty Ltd to redevelop key sites at the southern end of Blackwattle Bay.
This project includes redevelopment of an existing charter vessel wharf as well as provision of foreshore access and a new pedestrian link to the Sydney Fish Market.
Blackwattle Bay Marina Pty Ltd intends to lodge planning applications for these works in 2012. This is likely to include a Development Application to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure for a charter vessel marina and a separate application to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure for the remainder of the project.
Blackwattle Bay Marina Pty Ltd will carry out further community consultation on the proposals as part of the planning process.
Note: The Master Plan for the Rozelle Bay and Blackwattle Bay Maritime precincts was prepared by the then Waterways Authority and approved by the Department of Planning in 2002. The Master Plan has since had two amendments, prepared by Maritime (which now replaces the Waterways Authority) and approved by the Department of Planning in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
