Changes to bus stops in Parramatta, Granville and South Granville

Transport for NSW is improving bus on-time running in the Parramatta and Cumberland Local Government area.

Updates and announcements

Concept finalised and the Submissions report released

Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime Services sought feedback in October and November 2017 on a Review of Environmental Factors for changes to some bus stops along the Parramatta to Hurstville via Chester Hill and Padstow bus corridor. The proposed changes to bus stops in Peakhurst, Penshurst and Hurstville are mainly serviced by the Metro bus Route M91.

We received feedback from 80 people and organisations. We would like to thank everyone for their comments. The feedback included comments around access to bus services, additional walking distances and project justification.

The approved changes will be on:

  • Church Street, Parramatta
  • Halsall Street, Granville
  • Blaxcell Street, Granville and South Granville.

Project background

The NSW Government has fully funded the Bus Priority Infrastructure Program. The program aims to improve the reliability of bus services on Sydney’s main bus corridors.

The proposed changes are part of ‘Sydney’s Bus Future’, the NSW Government’s plan to redesign Sydney’s bus network to meet customer needs now and into the future. For more information please visit Sydney's Bus Future.

These changes have been developed by Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime, in consultation with Sydney Buses.

Key outcomes of the proposal

  • Making travel times more reliable for customers
  • Contributing to the NSW Government’s target of 95 per cent on-time running of bus services.

Community engagement

We have assessed the environmental impacts of these changes to bus services along the Parramatta to Hurstville bus corridor (route M91) in a report of findings called a Review of Environmental Factors (REF). It was on public display in October and November 2017.

Roads and Maritime summarised the feedback, concerns raised and our responses into a Submissions Report and Appendix A and Appendix B, which can be viewed from 28 February 2018.

The Submissions report is available to download:

What happens next?

Changes to bus stops will be implemented between March and June 2018.

We will continue to liaise with the community throughout the project.
