Intersection improvements completed on Hoxton Park Road and Hill Road Lurnea

The NSW Government funded this work as part of its $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Sydney’s busiest corridors.

Roads and Maritime Services has completed the intersection upgrades. Many thanks for your patience while we carried out this work.

Project background

To alleviate congestion Roads and Maritime carried out improvements on the intersection of Hoxton Park Road and Hill Road, Lurnea.

Project features

The completed work includes:

  • widening 80 metres of Hoxton Park Road, to build a dedicated left turn lane on to Hill Road
  • relocating the traffic control signals at the intersection of Hoxton Park Road and Hill Road, and providing a left turn signal for motorists turning left on to Hill Road
  • installing No Stopping signs on both sides of Hill Road, between Hoxton Park Road and Taloma Avenue
  • removing and replacing the road surface and line marking
  • reconstructing the bus stop
  • installing a new footpath.

Key benefits

The new dedicated left turn lane will improve westbound traffic flow and increase motorist safety by helping to reduce the number of rear-end crashes.
