Project background

The NSW Government is funding this proposal as part of its $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Sydney’s busiest corridors.

Key benefits

The proposal will:

  • reduce congestion
  • improve travel times particularly in peak hours
  • improve traffic flow at this intersection and approaches
  • improve safety for pedestrians and road users.

Project features

The proposed improvements include:

  • providing an additional southbound, right turn lane from the Hume Highway onto Hoxton Park Road
  • widening to the west on the Hume Highway to accommodate the additional southbound right turn lane
  • relocating the median, pedestrian crossing and stop line on Hoxton Park Road to accommodate dual right turns from the Hume Highway
  • relocating utilities to suit the new configuration.
