Parramatta Road traffic and road improvements, Homebush

Roads and Maritime Services is implementing traffic and road improvements on Parramatta Road between Church Street, Granville and Birnie Avenue, Lidcombe to improve traffic flow and safety along this road corridor.

Our work schedule

We will be on site for 30 shifts between Friday 3 February and Sunday 9 April, excluding public holidays, weather permitting. Our work hours will be from 9pm to 5am, between Sundays and Fridays.

The work will noisy at times but we will make every effort to minimise its impact, including completing noisier work by midnight and staging work in different locations.

01 Intersection of Parramatta Road and Bridge Road, Homebush

  • Remove three parking spaces on Bridge Road on approach to Parramatta Road to improve traffic flow
  • Adjust line marking
  • Install new ‘No Stopping’ signs.

02 Intersection of Parramatta Road and Bridge Road, Homebush

  • Change lane configurations to remove a through lane and replace with a right turn lane eastbound on Parramatta Road into Bridge Road
  • Adjust line marking
  • Install new ‘No Stopping’ signs.

03 Intersection of Parramatta Road and Underwood Road, Homebush

  • Change lane configurations to remove a through lane and replace with a right turn lane westbound on Parramatta Road into Underwood Road and Park Road
  • Adjust line marking
  • Install new ‘No Stopping’ signs.

04 Intersection of Parramatta Road and Underwood Road, Homebush

  • Remove five parking spaces on Underwood Road on approach to Parramatta Road to improve traffic flow
  • Install ‘No Stopping’ signs on Underwood Road between Parramatta Road and Powell Street
  • Remove a small concrete island on Underwood Road on approach to Parramatta Road
  • Adjust line marking.

05 Intersection of Parramatta Road and Subway Lane, Homebush

  • Change Subway Lane to a one-way street between Parramatta Road and Loftus Crescent with entry only from Parramatta Road
  • Adjust line marking
  • Install new signs.
