Updates and announcements

Night work and a temporary road closure on South Street, Schofields, from Monday, 8 May 2017

The NSW Government is funding a $340 million upgrade of Schofields
Road between Windsor Road, Rouse Hill and Richmond Road, Marsden Park. Stage 3 of this upgrade from Veron Road to Richmond Road includes an extension of Schofields Road across Eastern Creek to Carnarvon Road and widening along South Street.

Roads and Maritime Services is continuing to deliver this important project. As part of this work we are building foundations for the new bridge over Bells Creek on South Street, Schofields.

In order to minimise impact on motorists, work will be carried out at night when traffic volumes are lower. Work hours will be between 6pm and 6am, from Monday 8 May to Thursday 11 May, weather permitting.

We have included a map to show the suggested detours and work location.

How will the work affect you?

Our work may be noisy at times however we will make every effort to minimise the impact by carrying out the noisiest work before 11pm.

Traffic changes

A section of South Street near Bells Creek will be closed from 6pm each night and reopened each day at 6am.

Suggested detours will be in place along Garfield Road West, Grange Avenue and Townson Road which may affect travel times. Access will be maintained to all properties during the work.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
