Stage 3 - Veron Road to Richmond Road - open to traffic

Stage 3 of the Schofields Road upgrade is between Veron Road and Richmond Road. It includes extending Schofields Road from Veron Road, across Eastern Creek, to Carnarvon Road and widening the South Street alignment.

Schofields Road upgrade - open to traffic

NSW Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey officially opened the Schofields Road upgrade on Thursday 28 June 2018 marking completion of the full eight kilometres project.

The new Schofields Road corridor delivers a vital east-west link in Sydney’s North West Growth Area.

We thank the community for its patience as we delivered this vital upgrade.

  • Two lanes in each direction with a wide central median allowing for widening to six lanes when required in the future
  • Extending Schofields Road from Veron Road across Eastern Creek to Carnarvon Road
  • Extending of Schofields Road from Carnarvon Road to Richmond Road using the existing South Street alignment
  • A tree lined transit boulevard
  • New traffic lights at Carnarvon Road and provision for future connection to Fermoy Road
  • Twin bridges over Eastern Creek and Bells Creek
  • Designated turning lanes and temporary U-turn facilities until surrounding developments are complete. Shared cyclist and pedestrian path on both sides of the road
  • Pedestrian and cyclist crossings at all intersections with traffic lights
  • Bus priority lanes at traffic light intersections and indented bus bays.
