Western Sydney Program Office

Roads and Maritime Services has an ambitious task ahead to deliver the single largest series of infrastructure investments in the state’s history. Major project capital expenditure is expected to more than double to $16 billion over the next five years to transform the state’s roads, freight and maritime network – we are calling this expanded program the ‘Wave’.

By 2031, greater Western Sydney will be home to over half of Sydney’s population. The Western Sydney Program Office is responsible for delivering the significant upgrades and expansions of major roads that are needed to accommodate this growth.

Projects include the M12 Western Sydney Airport Motorway to support the new airport at Badgerys Creek, Bringelly Road, Richmond Road, Schofields Road and Memorial Avenue.

Western Sydney Technical Briefing - 5 November 2015

Roads and Maritime Services held a Western Sydney Technical Briefing on 5 November 2015 in Penrith to update industry on key milestones for the procurement of four accelerated western Sydney major tender packages. These packages will be released for The Northern Road Upgrade between Penrith and Narellan which are part of a $1.5 billion transformational road infrastructure development funded by the Australian and NSW governments. Both the northern section of The Northern Road Stage 3 and The Northern Road Stage 4 projects are being accelerated by up to 18 months to respond to industry capability in the market and spread out clusters of major tenders that were forecast over the next two years.
