Bus Priority Program

Epping Road from Wicks Road to Dehli Road, North Ryde

Traffic and bus flow on Epping Road at North Ryde has been improved following completion of a bus priority measure between Wicks Road and Delhi Road.

On week days, 32 buses use Epping Road eastbound between Wicks Road and Delhi Road in the 7am to 8am traffic peak. In the 4pm to 6pm traffic peak, 30 buses use this section of Epping Road.

The bus priority measure involved:

  • Narrowing the centre median.
  • Relocating utilities and widening Epping Road.
  • Extending the bus only lane further west so that it starts midway between the Wicks Road and Delhi Road intersections and allows buses to bypass traffic queues on Epping Road eastbound.
  • Extending the left turn traffic lane on to Delhi Road so that it starts at Wicks Road and improves traffic flow and makes it easier for vehicles to access businesses located on the northern side of Epping Road.
