McFarlane Bridge - Lawrence Road Maclean

A photograph of McFarlane Bridge - Lawrence Road

Lawrence Road connects the communities of Maclean, Woodford Island and Lawrence as well as being an alternative route to the Pacific Highway between Maclean and Grafton.

Roads and Maritime Services has been undertaking major refurbishment work on the McFarlane Bridge since July 2012.

McFarlane Bridge was built in 1906 and is a 17 span timber beam bridge with two central steel spans. An assessment identified the need for replacement of a number of components of the bridge.

A bitumen seal will soon be placed on the timber decking to improve durability and safety for motorists. Line marking on the bridge deck will then be carried out, completing this phase of work on McFarlane Bridge.

Roads and Maritime Services appreciates your patience during this essential maintenance work.
