Canberra Avenue - noise treatments
The $5 million project to address road traffic noise along a two kilometre length of Canberra Avenue in Queanbeyan is now complete.
The noise walls have been installed and landscape maintenance is underway.
This project is the result of extensive consultation with nearby residents and technical assessments such as acoustic reports and shade studies. These reports, including a community issues summary, are available for your information on the project documents page.
Changes to traffic conditions on Canberra Avenue
When needed, shoulder closures may take place eastbound and westbound on Canberra Avenue between 9:30am to 3:00pm during the landscape maintenance period.
During the shoulder closures, through traffic would be maintained at all times and a reduced road work speed of 40km/h would be in place.
