Protect yourself and others from the flu with a free flu vaccination
Influenza or 'the flu' is a highly infectious viral illness. It tends to be much more severe than the common cold, with symptoms such as rapid onset of fever, muscle aches, joint pains, headache, sore throat, cough and a general feeling of unwellness. The flu can last up to 10 days and can be followed by a secondary illness such as pneumonia. Influenza vaccination prevents 50–70% of cases of Influenza infection in healthy adults.
Free flu vaccinations are available for Roads and Maritime workers (including other Transport agency workers, labour hire and professional service contractors embedded in Roads and Maritime workplaces). The timing is dependent on the provider, and workers need to book to receive the vaccination.
