Hot work

Roads and Maritime manages risks associated with hot work activities. Hot work is any process that can be a source of ignition when flammable material is present. It can also be a fire hazard regardless of the presence of flammable material in the workplace. Common hot work processes at Roads and Maritime include welding, cutting and grinding.

Workers could be exposed to hazards associated with hot work activities. Our safety systems – including procedures, tools and guidance – assist in eliminating or minimising risks.
