WHS risk management
Roads and Maritime’s approach to risk management is to eliminate risks to health and safety so far as is reasonably practicable before minimising those risks.
Our WHS risk management procedure sets out a systematic process in which risks are identified and assessed; controls are identified and monitored and reviewed; at every level of the agency, WHS risks are captured in risk registers. (See Understanding our risks.)
We set out to ensure that risks are managed so far as is reasonably practicable (SFAIRP). Part of the risk management toolkit is the SFAIRP determination guide and template which enables duty holders to determine that the highest practicable level of control has been applied to the risk.
