Temporary local road closure for Camden Valley Way upgrade
Motorists and residents are advised Catherine Field Road at Catherine Field will be temporarily closed to traffic while work is carried out to build an intersection as part of stage two of the Camden Valley Way upgrade.
“Roads and Maritime Services started work in March on stage two of the Camden Valley Way upgrade from Raby Road at Leppington to Oran Park Drive at Harrington Park,” Mr Patterson said.
“The project is fully funded by the NSW Government with $25 million allocated this year to carry out upgrade work.
“During consultation earlier this year the community supported the proposed closures of local roads between July and October for upgrade work to be carried out.
“Catherine Field Road will be closed for six weeks from Monday 9 September, weather permitting for the intersection to be built.
“Weekday work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
“Motorists will not be able to access Catherine Field Road at Camden Valley Way and detours will be in place while work is carried out.
“Bus stops will be relocated to Deepfield and Springfield roads while work is carried out with notifications in place at stops on Catherine Field Road to advise of the change.
“Access to properties will be maintained via Springfield Road and Deepfield Road.
“Electronic signs and traffic controllers will be in place to direct traffic.
“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise on residents. Motorists are reminded to obey reduced speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers,” Mr Patterson said.
