Work completed to improve safety on The Grand Parade at Sutherland
Motorists and the community will now benefit from a safer journey through the intersection of The Grand Parade and Linden Street with road safety improvement work now complete.
Member for Menai, Melanie Gibbons MP said: “The $370,000 project was fully funded by the Federal Government as part of the BlackSpot Program to improve road safety.”
“Work included installing redirective median barriers on The Grand Parade and Linden Street and a new road surface on the northbound lanes to increase traction vehicles.
“The new high friction road surface will provide increased grip in wet weather and reduce the risk of vehicles running off the road.
“The median barriers have been installed to redirect any errant vehicles back into their lanes.
“The work is expected to create a safer environment for all road users.
“Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists and residents for their patience while the work was carried out,” Ms Gibbons said.
