Have your say by Friday on Berry to Bomaderry upgrade
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward has today reminded local residents to have their say on the review of environmental factors (REF) for the proposed Princes Highway Berry to Bomaderry by this Friday 29th November.
“The proposed upgrade of the Princes Highway between Berry and Bomaderry aims to improve travel for all road users with a four-lane highway with median separation for 11.5 kilometres from Schofields Lane at Berry to Cambewarra Road at Bomaderry,” Mr Ward said.
“The NSW Government has provided $3 million this financial year to progress planning this stage of the upgrade which aims to increase capacity and reduce delays for motorists travelling on the South Coast.
“The REF assesses potential environmental, economic and social impacts associated with the project and identifies measures to minimise and manage these potential impacts,” he said.
“To ensure we get the balance right we invited community feedback by Friday 29th November to ‘Berry to Bomaderry Upgrade’ c/o AECOM, PO Box Q410, QVB Post Office, Sydney, NSW 2000 and by email to email@example.com.
“All comments received by the Roads and Maritime Services project team will be considered in finalising the upgrade design.
“Responses will be published in a submission report at www.rms.nsw.gov.au/bbu in 2014.
“The Berry to Bomaderry upgrade is the last of the three projects to be planned, with the $329 million Gerringong upgrade now well under way and the Foxground and Berry bypass now approved.
“It is fantastic to see such real commitment to upgrading the region’s roads,” Mr Ward said. For further information please visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au/bbu or call the project information line (free call) on 1800 506 976.
