Hospital roads information sessions

Local MPs Brad Hazzard, Mike Baird and Jonathan O’Dea are inviting residents to drop in to an information session and have their say about planned road upgrades near the Northern Beaches Hospital site.

“There’s nothing more important than local residents having the chance to have their say on local roads as the hospital plans are developed,” Mr Hazzard said.

“Locals know the roads – locals know the issues. This next step is about making sure local knowledge informs these needed road upgrades,” Jonathan O’Dea said “it’s critical that Roads and Maritime Services hears residents’ questions and their views.”

“The upcoming information sessions are a vital milestone in delivering this massive project,” Mr O’Dea said.

Information sessions:

When: Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 April from 4pm to 8pm.

Where: Frenchs Forest Public School Assembly Hall on Ann Street (pedestrians can access the hall via the pedestrian gate next to Sorlie Place).

“A third drop in sesssion will be held on Saturday 12 April from 10am to 2pm at Forestville Memorial Hall, corner Starkey Street and Warringah Road at Forestville,” Mr Hazzard said.

Mr Baird said “because the hospital will be located close to Warringah Road, Forest Way and Wakehurst Parkway input from those who use our major arterial roads serving the beaches is a vital part of the planning process.”

“Road widening, intersection upgrades, new pedestrian bridges and bus priority lanes are all options being considered to reduce congestion,” Mr Baird said.

Mr Hazzard said “work to reduce the impact of flooding on Wakehurst Parkway is also being considered as part of the work.”
