Holiday traffic changes at Kendall's Cutting north of Milton
19 December 2014
Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock today advised motorists work to improve safety on the Princes Highway north of Milton has now stopped for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
“Work has been taking place at Kendall’s Cutting about four kilometres north of Milton since September and involves widening the road shoulders to reduce the risk of rock falls onto the highway,” Mrs Hancock said.
“The NSW Government has allocated $2.3 million for the work.
“Motorists are advised the speed limit will be 80km/h through the work site with both lanes open during the holiday shut down.
“The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h between 7am and 5pm on weekdays when work resumes on Monday 19 January, with the exception of the Australia Day weekend.
“The project is expected to be completed in late March, weather permitting.”
Mrs Hancock thanks motorists for their patience while work is carried out and advise motorists travelling during the Christmas and New Year holidays to drive to the conditions.
