Motorists encouraged to slow down on Princes Highway at Brogo
27 January 2016
Member for Bega Andrew Constance has today advised motorists to slow down on the Princes Highway at Brogo with the speed limit reduced to 90 km/h from tomorrow.
Mr Constance said the existing 100 km/h speed limit will be reduced for around 1.2 kilometres from about 900 metres north of Upper Cobargo Road to 360 metres south of Upper Cobargo Road after a speed zone review.
“A review of the Princes Highway was carried out after the community raised safety concerns,” Mr Constance said.“The existing 100 km/h speed limit has been reduced to reflect the driving conditions and provide a safer road environment for all road users.
“This section of road has frequent curves and crests and reducing the speed limit to 90 km/h will increase safety for motorists.
“Motorists should slow down and drive to the new conditions.”
Mr Constance said the new speed zone will come into effect from tomorrow, Thursday 28 January.
Electronic message signs will be in place ahead of the change to inform motorists of the new speed limit.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and to have a say on speed limits.
