Delivering for Warimoo
Tuesday 3 July 2018
Delivering for Warrimoo is the clear message Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Roads, Maritime and Transport Kevin Anderson was sending today during a visit to inspect roadwork being carried out along the Great Western Highway at Warrimoo.
Mr Anderson said the NSW Government was investing in essential maintenance work between Greens Road and Wilson Way under its $1.5 billion program to maintain and improve the 18,028 kilometre state road network.
“This is a government delivering on major infrastructure projects including the planned 30 kilometre duplication of the Great Western Highway between Katoomba and Forty Bends and ensuring essential maintenance is carried where necessary on the existing road network,” Mr Anderson said.
“Regular maintenance helps prevent or minimise damage to roads from weather and wear and tear to make them safer, provide consistent driving conditions and reduce maintenance costs in the long term.
“Road resurfacing and repainting road markings on Great Western Highway from Greens Road to Wilson Way is being carried out from Sunday to Friday for the next few weeks, weather permitting.
“Work is being carried out at night to minimise delays for motorists and ensure locals are getting the quality roads they need without major inconvenience,” Mr Anderson said.
The community is thanked for its patience while this important work is carried out.
