$500,000 invested into upgraded safety on New South Head Road, Bellevue Hill
13 July 2018
Work is complete to improve pedestrian access and safety at the intersection of New South Head Road and Victoria Road at Bellevue Hill.
Ms Upton said the NSW Government provided $320,000 to Woollahra Council as part of the NSW Government’s commitment to transport and road safety.
“The work included widening the footpath, upgrading the kerb and installing new pedestrian crossing facilities on the southern side of the
intersection. This provides safe and connected pedestrian facilities along New South Head Road through Bellevue Hill,” Ms Upton said.
Improvements on New South Head Road between Victoria Road and Gladswood Gardens at Double Bay were also completed with $150,000 from NSW Government to upgrade the road surface and the vegetation.
“This important work was completed at the end of last month, which is great news for local pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.”
“Together these completed projects represent nearly $500,000 of NSW Government funding into road safety measures in our local area – that is a welcome and important investment,” Ms Upton said.
