Consultation report now available for proposed Pacific Highway upgrades

Plans are progressing for proposed improvements along the Pacific Highway between Turramurra and Wahroonga with a community consultation report now available online.

State Member for Ku-ring-gai, Alister Henskens SC MP, said the NSW Government is funding the proposed improvements as part of its program to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Sydney’s busiest road corridors.

The proposed improvements along the Pacific Highway between Turramurra and Wahroonga would ease congestion and improve travel times for motorists, particularly in the afternoon peak,” Mr Henskens said.

Work would include widening the highway to provide three continuous northbound lanes and maintain three continuous southbound lanes at a number of key intersections.
Work would be carried out at the Pacific Highway intersections with Finlay Road, Fox Valley Road, Coonanbarra Road and Redleaf Avenue.”

Mr Henskens said Roads and Maritime Services invited comments on the proposed improvements in September last year and received feedback from 94 people.

The comments received included access into and out of the Pacific Highway from local streets, potential environmental impacts and traffic light location changes on the Pacific Highway at Redleaf Avenue,” Mr Henskens said.

All comments and feedback provided by the community and stakeholders have been carefully considered and the proposal will proceed with minor changes.

These include changing the design at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Fox Valley Road to shorten the dedicated left turn bay into Fox Valley Road from 60 metres to around 30 metres.

Roads and Maritime will also investigate other options for the proposed upgrade of the Pacific Highway intersections with Coonanbarra Road and Redleaf Avenue.”

Mr Henskens said the community and stakeholders are thanked for taking the time to provide feedback and will be updated as the project progresses.
