All aboard new Griffith to Sydney service

22 August 2019

A new mid-week service between Griffith and Sydney will start in mid-September, giving train travellers across the Riverina more choice and flexibility when planning their trips.

Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Transport Stephen Bromhead said The Nationals in Government were committed to improving public transport for regional NSW.

“We’re making it easier for people living in the Riverina to visit family and friends, plan holidays and attend appointments in other towns,” Mr Bromhead said.

“The new service will ensure regional communities along the route are better connected than ever, supporting local economies and boosting tourism in the bush.”

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the new service was being delivered in response to community consultation undertaken in February and March of this year.

“This is great news for the bush, and great news for the communities along the route including Leeton, Narrandera, Coolamon, Junee, Cootamundra, Harden and Yass,” Ms Cooke said.

The first new mid-week service will depart Sydney on Wednesday 18 September, followed by the first Griffith to Sydney service on Thursday 19 September.
