Last chance to apply for grants
25 September 2019
Councils, transport operators, schools and community groups throughout regional and rural NSW still have time to share in more than $3.2 million to improve customer experience on public transport.
Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Transport Stephen Bromhead said the Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme was aimed at improving access to public transport and improving infrastructure across regional NSW.
“We are committed to improving public transport infrastructure across the state and I encourage councils, operators, schools and community groups to work together to identify the needs within their community, and apply,” Mr Bromhead said
“Groups can apply for funding to build new bus shelters or upgrading existing bus shelters with new seats, signage, lights and even guidance tools for customers with vision impairment and wheelchairs.
“This program directly benefits customers in rural, regional and remote communities travelling on services contracted by the Liberals & Nationals Government, with ore than $11 million invested across more than 1000 infrastructure projects since 2011.”
Applications for the Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme will close at midday on 30 September 2019.
Applications can be completed Transport for NSW online with guidelines and further information found on Country Passenger Transport Infrastructure Grants Scheme.
