Get involved in Newell overtaking lanes

30 October 2019

Local businesses in Parkes, Peak Hill and surrounding areas are invited to learn more about what supplier and labour opportunities will be available with the next two overtaking lanes north of Parkes.

Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the northbound lane at Telescope would start as early as December, with the southbound lane near Peak Hill to kick off early next year.

“The NSW Government is investing in the regions, with the overtaking lanes on the Newell helping to improve safety and freight efficiency, and reduce travel times along the route,” Mr Toole said.

“I encourage local businesses to attend information sessions in Parkes as they are a great forum to discuss the opportunities available, what is required and how to get involved in the upcoming projects.

“Communities members should also get along to the sessions in Parkes and Peak Hill to learn more about how the new overtaking lanes will support the local economy.”

The Newell Highway Program Alliance is delivering about 30 additional overtaking lanes in the next four years. More information is available on Newell Highway Program Alliance.
