Comment on Juno Parade No Stopping proposal

8 February 2012

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is reminding community members feedback on the proposal to install no stopping zones on Juno Parade, Greenacre is due by Friday 17 February.

“Bankstown City Council’s traffic committee raised concerns with RMS about westbound traffic congestion on Juno Parade, east of the Roberts Road intersection,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“Traffic studies show vehicles queuing out of the right turn bay and cars parked in the kerb lane block access to the through lane and left turn lane during peak times.”

“The congestion also leads to westbound vehicles sometimes using eastbound lanes and mounting driveways to avoid queuing, which poses a serious risk to pedestrians and other road users,” the spokesperson said.

RMS proposes to introduce peak hour no stopping zones on the southern side of Juno Parade from Roberts Road to Skyline Street.

“The proposed no stopping zones would allow westbound traffic on Juno Parade to flow more freely, which would reduce congestion and improve road safety,” the spokesperson said.
