Change of speed limit on The Bucketts Way - Gloucester to Gangat
31 August 2012
Speed limit changes will be implemented on The Bucketts Way between Gloucester and Tugrabakh in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
A Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson said a review had been carried out as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.
“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” the spokesperson said.
“The changes will occur on three sections of The Buckets Way from Gloucester to Tugrabakh.
“The existing 60km/h speed limit on The Bucketts Way at Gloucester to 750 metres west of Warkivory Road at Tugrabakh will be reduced to 50km/h.
“These changes will provide a more consistent approach to speed limits along the road and better reflect the road conditions,” the spokesperson said.
“From 750 metres west of Warkivory Road to 700 metres west of Mereweather Lane at Tugrabakh the existing speed limit of 100km/h will be reduced to 90km/h.
“From 700 metres west of Mereweather Lane to 600 metres east of Mereweather Lane at Tugrabakh the existing speed limit of 100km/h will be reduced to 80km/h.
“From 600 metres east of Mereweather Lane to 300 metres east of Bakers Road at Tugrabakh the existing speed limit of 70km/h will be reduced to 60km/h.”
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
