Exclusive use for water ski race on Clarence River this weekend
27 September 2012
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of water ski races on the Clarence River at Grafton this weekend.
Maritime North Coast Regional Manager James Green said boaters should keep clear of Clarence River on Saturday from Seelands to Grafton between 12pm and 4.30pm and on Sunday from Grafton to Harwood between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of the Grafton Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic organised by Big River Ski Club,” Mr Green said.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”
Mr Green said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
