No stopping zone on Parramatta Road at Auburn

28 November 2012

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will implement a ‘No Stopping’ restriction to replace the current ‘No Parking’ zone on Parramatta Road between Silverwater Road and Homebush Bay Drive at Auburn.

“RMS distributed approximately 750 letters to surrounding residents on the proposal to change both sides of Parramatta Road to a ‘No Stopping’ zone to reduce congestion and improve road safety,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“RMS did not receive any objections during the consultation period and will carry out work to replace the ‘No Parking’ signs with ‘No Stopping’ signs on Friday 29 November.

“The work aims to improve traffic flow and road safety on Parramatta Road, especially during major events at nearby Sydney Olympic Park.

“Motorists are reminded a no stopping zone does not permit drop offs or temporary parking except in a medical or other emergency.

”Motorists are advised to drive with caution while the work is being carried out.

“For traffic information contact the Transport Management Centre on 132 701 or visit,” the spokesperson said.
