Speed limit changes in Clarence Town

Motorists are encouraged to slow down on sections of Fords and Limeburners Creek roads at Clarence Town with speed limit changes due to be implemented in the next fortnight, weather permitting.

Roads and Maritime Services carried out a review of the speed limit on both roads in response to community feedback.

“The speed limit review assessed a number of factors including the road environment, traffic levels and crash data,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.

“The existing 100km/h speed limit will be reduced to 60km/h along Fords Road from the intersection of Glen William Road for about 1.6 kilometres east, due to the narrow road width and number of tight bends.

“The existing 100km/h speed limit will be reduced to 90km/h on Limeburners Creek Road from the Bucketts Way to 1.4 kilometres east of Glen Martin Road, due to its crash history and a number of bends.”

Warning signs will be in place in advance of the changes on Limeburners Creek Road to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.

Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
