Temporary lane closure on Hume Motorway at Berrima
23 January 2014
Motorists are advised the northbound slow lane on the Hume Motorway at Berrima has been closed for about 800 metres, four kilometres south of Mittagong.
Earth movements have caused the road surface to drop by a small amount causing a road safety issue.
The issue will be assessed by Roads and Maritime Services maintenance officers tomorrow to decide the best way to repair the problem.
For the safety of motorists the lane will be closed indefinitely while the assessment and work to repair the issue are carried out.
The 110km/h speed limit will be maintained but motorists are advised to exercise caution while travelling in the area to avoid slow moving vehicles.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and obey all signs.
