Have your say on parking proposal for Old South Head Road
26 November 2014
The community is invited to provide feedback on a proposal to introduce four-hour parking limits during the day on Fridays on Old South Head Road at Vaucluse to improve local access to businesses.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the proposal to restrict parking to four hours between 8am and 6pm on Fridays aims to improve access to the popular Diamond Bay Bowling Club on the eastern side of the road between Diamond Bay Road and Stanley Street.
“Short-term parking is often a problem in the area as there is competing demand for parking spaces between residents, people parking boat trailers and those attending the Diamond Bay Bowling Club.
“Roads and Maritime Services invites comments by Friday 12 December to the proposal to understand community need,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the proposal involved extending timed parking restrictions on Old South Head Road from Diamond Bay Road for about 40 metres south.
“The proposal would extend this existing restriction an extra 27 metres to the intersection of Stanley Street.
“Parking would remain unrestricted from Saturday to Thursday and from 6pm on Friday.
“Roads and Maritime will consider all feedback before finalising its decision about this proposal and will continue to keep the community updated.”
Feedback on the parking proposal should be received by Friday 12 December to Roads and Maritime Services Network and Safety Officer Karessa Cullen by email to Karessa.Cullen@rms.nsw.gov.au or in writing to Karessa Cullen, Roads and Maritime Services, PO Box 973, Parramatta CBD NSW 2124.
