Plan ahead for changed traffic conditions on Frenchs Forest Road and Naree Road
4 OCTOBER 2017
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on Frenchs Forest and Naree roads at Frenchs Forest for essential work to be carried out as part of the Northern Beaches Hospital road upgrade.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said Frenchs Forest and Naree roads will become one way for westbound traffic between Forest Way and Patanga Road from Sunday 8 October for up to ten months.
“The temporary closures will allow essential work to be carried out including road widening, laying new road surface, utility relocation as well as installing new traffic lights,” the spokesperson said.
“Roads and Maritime is working closely with impacted property owners, residents and business owners along Frenchs Forest and Naree roads to mitigate the impact of the changed traffic conditions.
“The safest and most efficient way to complete this work is by making the road one way only.
“Pedestrian and cyclists are advised detours will be in place with signage and traffic controllers in place while footpaths are temporarily adjusted.”
The spokesperson said eastbound bus stops on Frenchs Forest Road will be temporarily closed while work is carried out and alternative stops opened on Warringah Road.
“The 136, 169, 173, E69, 280 and L60 bus routes that travel along Frenchs Forest Road will be diverted eastbound via Warringah Road to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently,” the spokesperson said.
“Customers are being given as much notice as possible about these changes through print, online and radio advertising as well as at bus stops and on particular services.
“There will also be customer assistance staff in pink shirts on the ground to help customers through the changes.
“Bus customers in the area are being encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the closure.”
