Maintenance work starts on Botany Road at Botany

The community is advised essential maintenance work is being carried out on Botany Road between Stephen and Foreshore roads at Botany.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the work is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $1.5 billion maintenance program which helps maintain and improve roads across the state.

“Essential maintenance work is being carried out on this busy stretch of road to improve safety for motorists and reduce ongoing future maintenance requirements,” the spokesperson said.

“Work involves removing and replacing concrete slabs and asphalt, building kerbs and guttering, investigating utilities and repainting road markings.”

The spokesperson said work will be carried out until Friday 2 March 2018, weather permitting.

“To minimise the impact to motorists, crews will be onsite from 8pm to 6am, excluding Saturdays,” the spokesperson said.

“Work is expected to take around 60 shifts to complete and may be noisy at times but all measures will be taken to minimise impact to residents.

“Work will not be carried out during the Christmas/New Year holidays from Sunday 24 December 2017 to Friday 5 January 2018 inclusive.”

Traffic control and lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
