Contract awarded to APN for roadside billboard advertising
4 June 2018
The NSW Government has awarded a contract for billboard advertising to APN Outdoor.
“The new seven year contract will take effect from August this year and involves switching a number of the 50 existing static signs to digital across the state,” A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said.
“This agreement is a win for taxpayers, as the contract includes a significant increase to the free media space provided to the NSW Government on APN Outdoor billboards. This will enable greater opportunities for road safety messaging to be delivered to motorists in key locations.”
The Roads and Maritime spokesperson said the contract demonstrates the government is taking steps to optimise revenue using new digital forms of technology.
“The Roads and Maritime contract includes key sites on Pennant Hills Road, Cumberland Highway, Hume Highway, M4, M5, M7 and Warringah Road.”
APN Outdoor went through a competitive tender process and won the contract after presenting a considered tender which included the potential to convert a number of sites to digital, as well as develop digital greenfield sites.
Roads and Maritime will continue to maximise the development of greenfield digital opportunities throughout New South Wales to facilitate increased spending on core services.
The contract stipulates all sites will comply with the recently updated State Environmental Planning Policy for roadside advertising.
