New traffic barrier to be installed on M4 off ramp at Church Street Parramatta
17 July 2018
Roads and Maritime Services will install a new traffic barrier at the busy Church Street off ramp on the M4 Motorway at Parramatta on Thursday night, 19 July 2018.
This work will create a single lane exit to Church Street, to help improve the safety for motorists approaching and using this off ramp, improve traffic flow and reduce traffic queues.
The barrier will be installed between the ramp and through lanes on the M4 Motorway, to prevent drivers attempting to merge at high speed.
Traffic control and temporary ramp closures will be in place during the work, expected to be between 11pm on Thursday 19 July and 5am on Friday 20 July 2018.
An 80km/h speed limit will be introduced on the M4 during the work, eastbound between Coleman Street and Church Street, for the safety of workers and motorists.
Roads and Maritime urges motorists to drive to the conditions and use caution when approaching the off-ramp during peak periods.
Motorists and the local community will be advised of the changes through electronic message signs, social media and letters to stakeholders.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
