8 November 2019
Changed traffic conditions will be in place on Warringah Road, Wakehurst Parkway and Forest Way at Frenchs Forest from next week to progress work on the Northern Beaches Hospital road upgrade.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson said crews are continuing to excavate the new Warringah Road underpass and upgrade the surrounding road network as the project moves closer to completion.
“The community and motorists will notice increased night time road work from next Monday to lay final layers of asphalt as well as build traffic islands and medians throughout the project area,” the spokesperson said.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place from Monday 11 November, with a contraflows in place along Warringah Road, Wakehurst Parkway and Forest Way.
“As night work continues, motorists are reminded to drive carefully and be aware of changed traffic conditions,” the spokesperson said.
“While work continues on the upgrade, a number of temporary lane closures will be in place until late December to allow work to be carried out safely.
“Pedestrian access will be maintained and traffic controllers will be on site to assist residents and pedestrians.”
The spokesperson said motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, plan ahead, drive to the conditions and follow the direction of all signs and traffic control.
The community and motorists will continue to be updated about changes in the area and are thanked for their ongoing patience while work is carried out.
