Registration relief for farmers

The waiver of registration costs for primary producers with Class 1 agricultural vehicles has now ended.

The NSW Government is committed to supporting drought affected communities across NSW. In May 2020, the government announced a further $310 million in emergency drought relief, including the continuation of the primary producer concession scheme, in recognition of the ongoing drought conditions in regional NSW and to support the recovery.

This means that the current primary producer rebate on heavy vehicle registration costs, which was also due to expire, has been extended for another year, until 30 June 2021. Eligible primary producers will continue to receive a rebate on the registration charge for their heavy vehicles, providing much needed ongoing financial relief.
