About MIDO

The MIDO is responsible for:

  • Delivering key projects and programs including Transport for NSW, Maritime's Boating Now program, maritime asset management functions and geospatial services.
  • Delivering the NSW Boating Access Dredging Program and a number of major infrastructure projects including the Eden Safe Harbour Project and the Kamay Ferry Wharves.
  • Providing a one-stop-shop for councils, industry and other delivery partners looking for guidance and support on their own maritime infrastructure and dredging projects. This includes offering up-front advice in the early stages of the application process for future grant programs.

Projects

Kiama Harbour Revitalisation

The Kiama Harbour Revitalisation Strategic Framework is available to view. This Strategic Framework guides the future investment into the Kiama Harbour, to support the local community, tourism and regional development. More information is available on the Kiama Harbour Revitalisation webpage.

Wollongong Harbour Masterplan

The Wollongong Harbour Masterplan Report is now available to view. This plan guides the vision and future investment for the historical Wollongong Harbour, to maintain its important function as a working harbour and as a tourism and recreation hub for the city.

The Harbour is shared by many different users, and improving access, facilities and amenities will help strengthen the links between land and water, and promote safer use of the waterway by all.

The Wollongong Harbour Master Plan reflects the value of the harbour to the local community and other key stakeholders as identified during consultation that started in 2017.
