Roads and Maritime Services advises that the above navigation hazard has been identified on the Barrington River, between Rocky Crossing and the Barrington Bridge, (upstream of the Barrington River Lodge Outdoor Centre, 734 Barrington East Rd, Barrington NSW 2422).

Persons using the Barrington River are advised that due to recent storm and flood events that several navigable sections of the Barrington River may be partially or completely blocked by fallen trees, logs and other debris.


Paddlers are advised to inspect white water and rapid sections of the river before attempting to negotiate them. Portage of craft around obstructions is recommended.

Paddlers should be mindful that rivers are naturally dynamic and users must consider river heights, their own ability and the suitability of their craft before attempting to negotiate any river.

Paddlers are reminded to be extra vigilant and seek local advice.

This navigation warning remains in place until further notice, and will be monitored in the coming months.
