FEB 2019Work progressing

Work is progressing well on the replacement of the Lignum Creek Bridge with the project on track to be completed in mid-2019.

The existing timber bridge has been removed and the new, wider concrete bridge is taking shape.

The bridge demolition and construction work can be viewed on the timelapse video below..

The concrete bridge deck has been poured and road work will start in March to connect the bridge to the existing highway.

Work hours are from Monday to Saturday between 7am and 6pm, weather permitting.

Changed traffic conditions will continue to be in place for the safety of motorists and workers. Traffic will be detoured around the bridge site via the side track and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place. Up to one lane may be closed during road work for the bridge approaches.

Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of all signs, including reduced speed limits.

We thank motorists for their patience during this important project.

Project information
