The project aims to address the current and future transport needs of Moruya and surrounding communities providing safer and more reliable journeys.More information
We received 232 comments via the online interactive map and 63 emails to the project email address. Of the feedback received, 375 unique issues were identified focusing on key topics including; location of the proposed bypass and design suggestions, environmental impacts, potential social and economic impacts and traffic and transport issues in and around Moruya.
Transport will use the feedback to develop and refine designs of potential route options before selecting a preferred bypass route. We will continue to keep the community informed as the project progresses and provide opportunities for the community to provide feedback during future stages of the project.

Transport values feedback and suggestions provided by the community and stakeholders and will use this information when developing a range of options for the Moruya bypass.
In April 2020, ARUP were appointed to deliver the strategic business case for projects from south of Nowra to the Victorian border. The business case will determine the strategic priorities for the next stage of the Princes Highway upgrade as we work to deliver safer, more reliable journeys.
The Princes Highway is a critical link between Sydney and the Illawarra Region with the NSW South Coast down to the Victorian border. It provides vital connections between towns and regional centres and is an important freight link. The Princes Highway connects key east-west road corridors and is a significant route for inter-regional business, tourism and leisure travel.
A bypass would unlock opportunities to improve the feel of Moruya town centre for the benefit of locals, pedestrians and businesses and complement the appealing, tourist-friendly experience of the town.
Preliminary investigations will be undertaken to better understand the environmental, engineering, social and economic factors which may influence the feasibility of different bypass options.
Transport will use information from preliminary investigations and community and stakeholder feedback to develop options for the preferred bypass route for Moruya. Community consultation will be ongoing during future phases of the project.
