The NSW Government is funding this project as part of its $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel time on Sydney’s busiest corridors.

Road users traveling between Sydney’s North West and Parramatta are experiencing congestion and long wait times on Old Windsor Road between Seven Hills Road and Norbrik Drive. To ease congestion, improve traffic flow and reduce travel times, we will:

  • Widen Old Windsor Road from two to three continuous lanes in each direction to ease congestion for motorists
  • Extend the right turn lanes from Old Windsor Road onto Seven Hills Road to improve southbound traffic flow.

  • removing asphalt and installing new temporary pavement for northbound lane and work zone access
  • earthmoving and constructing pavement
  • upgrading drainage.

Our work schedule

We will be on site for up to five days and five nights a week for 35 night shifts and 56 day shifts between Wednesday 10 April and Sunday 30 June 2019, weather permitting, excluding public holidays.

Our day work hours will be between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 8am to 1pm on Saturday. Our night work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Friday. How will the work affect you?

Our work may be noisy at times. However we will do everything we can to minimise its impact, including completing noisier activities by midnight. Noise barriers along Old Windsor Road, will minimise the impact of noisy tasks. Traffic changes

There will be temporary traffic changes during our work hours to ensure the work zone is safe.

Lane closures will be in place and may affect travel times. Please keep to speed limits and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
